What is Respite?

The assumption of daily caregiving responsibilities on a temporary basis. Usually designed as a short-term option to provide parents or other caregivers temporary relief from the responsibilities of caring for individuals with special needs.

At Angels of Colorado, we strive to offer the very best in short-term respite care to our families and their loved ones with physical and cognitive disabilities.

Respite services can be delivered in many different models like:

AoC’s Respite Center (Facility based)

This model offers before & after school care, on evenings, and weekends. With an open play layout, children are welcome to come in and enjoy the full use of the kid’s gym with all equipment, arts and crafts section with access to the sensory cave a favorite among our young participants.

Respite Day Camps

Seasonal camps are held throughout the year to accommodate weeklong breaks form school in the Spring, Summer and Fall. Yearly Holiday Camp, is held on the second Saturday of December!

Respite Overnight

We understand how difficult it is to balance the needs of siblings, spouses, or yourself, so this service is designed with you in mind. Our dedicated and highly trained Direct Support Professionals (DSP) open their homes to welcome participants enrolled in this program, for up to 14 days for vacations options (You may be eligible to receive up to 30 days per calendar year). By giving parents the opportunity to take care of themselves and their other children, Respite Care enhances the quality of life for the entire family.

Community Connectors/Respite Outings

Day trips, with supported community access. This model can also serve as a form of respite, and provides shot-term relief to the primary care person, while the participant enjoys locations like museums, swimming pools, local library and more!

In Home Respite

Respite is delivered from the participant home from 4hours, up to 10 hour per day. Many Families prefer to have someone provide support from the comfort of their own home.
